Literacy Project Proposal

One thing this school needs to encourage reading is to create an ad campaign that does not just surround encouraging people to read in general. These ads are boring, and nobody is really going to be interested in reading if there is not any actual substance to the ad. I believe an easy way to fix this would be to create a social media account that promotes reading in an interesting way and encourages participation from other people. To do that, I believe the best course of action would be to create an Instagram account that will post daily book suggestions from all types of literature. On top of posts suggested by the account admin, there will also be stories where people can suggest books that they enjoy reading to help spread the word and allow people to hear from their peers, and not just an adult who might like an entirely different type of book. The only difficulty would be getting the word out about the account, but the easiest way to do that would be to have the school post it on their story, allowing those interested in the idea to follow the account and allowing me to capitalize on the already large following that U of D already has.

Comments

  1. Would these book suggestions be anonymous for the students who are too nervous to publicly comment about books?

    1. If people don't want their name in their recommendation, I can make them anonymous, but otherwise I feel like its better if students know who's suggesting a book

    1. I was going to have a text box in the story and just look at the answers.

    1. I was going to go off the suggestions people send in, the post would have a graphic of the cover and in the description I would have a description of the plot and the person's thoughts on the book.
